A schoolgirl was critically injured as a crude bomb exploded at their house at Hazaribagh in the capital Monday morning. The victim was identified as Tania Akhter, 10, a Class II student of Nur-e-Haowa Madrasa at Hazaribagh. Tania, daughter of Abdur Rashid, is a resident of Dhal Par of Hazaribagh area. She was admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with injuries in the hands, face, chest and some other parts of her body.
Sonia Akhter, sister of the victim, said her brother Alamgir had picked a small container wrapped in tape from a park near their house.
Alamgir gave the
container to Tania and then it blasted as soon as she threw it, she said,
adding that splinters from hit different parts of her body.
Hazaribagh police subinspector Jahirul Hoque said they heard about the incidents and were investigating the matter.
