The month-long Khulna Ekushey Book Fair 2011 began on the Khulna Divisional Government Public Library premises at Bayra in the Khulna city Tuesday afternoon.
Organized by Khulna district administration, the fair began with the slogan ‘Book to achieve vision 2021’ and aims at creating readership of good books and make the young chaps interested in reading books, art, culture and literature.
The Khulna mayor, Talukder Abdul Khaleque, opened the fair as chief guest in the inaugural ceremony at 5:00pm.
The fair has 70 stalls and will be open from 8:00am to 10:00pm every day.
