New Zealand left-arm pace bowler Trent Boult will look to continue his success in the subcontinent when the first Test against Bangladesh begins on October 9 in Chittagong.
Boult took nine wickets in two Tests in Sri Lanka last November and has picked up 14 of his 49 career wickets in the four tests he has played in the subcontinent to date.‘Obviously it’s a very hard place to bowl pace-bowling, but I’ve had a little bit of experience in this part of the world and I’ve enjoyed a little bit of success,’ the 24-year-old said during a press conference at the team hotel in Dhaka ahead of the team’s departure for Chittagong.
Boult hopes the conditions in his first international match in Bangladesh will allow him to move the ball around and make inroads early in the innings.
‘I think my plan is obviously to swing the new ball as much as I can and then look to get the ball reversing later on in the innings. Hopefully conditions suit and I can look to exploit that as best I can.’
