A minor boy drowned on Sunday in a pond at Banasree in Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Md Shaon, 7, son of Md Faruk. The family said Shaon, along with his elder brother Shuvo, 9, went to the pond to take a bath at around 10:00am.
At one stage, Shaon slipped into the pond.Local people rescued Shaon in a critical condition and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at around 2:00pm.
