Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Dr Ferdous Ahmed Qureshi yesterday demanded broadcasting of all television programmes of foreign languages except English after dubbing into Bangla.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s central office in the city, Qureshi said, “Our social life is affected by the flood of Hindi films, serial and others entertainment, forcing our children to learn Hindi before Bangla.”
Qureshi called upon people to come forward with the slogan of ‘Hindi Khedao, Bangla Bachao’ [drive out Hindi, save Bangla] in the upcoming International Mother Language Day on February 21 to resist Hindi language aggression.
