The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday formed an inquiry committee against a company and its managing director for holding more than 10 per cent shares without declaration and against some investors for influencing share prices.
The BSEC formed the committee as per the alerts given by the surveillance software of the commission.
The BSEC asked the committee to submit report regarding more than 10 per cent share holding of Takaful Islami Insurance by Star Share Bazar Limited and its managing director Golam Mostafa.
The inquiry committee also asked to submit another report regarding some investors’ share transactions which influence share prices of various securities.
BSEC executive director Saifur Rahman told New Age, ‘An order was issued on the day forming an inquiry committee to investigate transactions of some investors as the BSEC’s surveillance software has recently detected their transactions suspicious and involved with influencing share prices.’
‘We would disclose the detail about the investors after the completion of investigation and if they are proved guilty,’ he said.
