The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has extended the tender submission deadline to April 15 for the international firms for managing 3G auction.
A BTRC notice on Tuesday said all other provisions of the tender offer would remain the same. The previous deadline for the interested parties to submit their proposals was April 10.
The BTRC will select a firm to draft the detail auction procedure which is subject to approval of the commission. The firm would develop auction software to carry out the functionality of the auction process.
The firm would also be responsible for arranging pre-auction meetings and a mock auction with the eligible bidders, besides conducting the original auction.
The BTRC is scheduled to hold the 3G auction for awarding four 3G mobile service licences on June 24.
The BTRC will award three licences to three out of five mobile companies operating in the country and one to any foreign firm. Another local operator the state-run Teletalk has already got the 3G licence by default.
