Artistic endeavours of the designers of Bangladesh Television (BTV) are on display at an 11-day group art exhibition at
Bengal Shilpalaya in Dhanmondi.
An ensemble of 34 artists, who have previously worked or are currently working as designers at BTV, have displayed 61 artworks done in different mediums and revealing diverse subject matters at the exhibition titled Saga of Creativity, making it a fair of versatile talents that one will not want to miss.
One could easily get arrested by the aquamarine waves of a vast river encompassing a green island in Mustafa Manowar’s acrylic painting titled River Side.
Rabindranath Tagore seems to have come alive in Abdul Mannan’s realistic portrait of the poet titled Rabindranath, done in acrylic.
Amidst colourful paintings, romantic sketches by Mahiuddin Faruque and Ferdousi Pinu offer a welcoming change. Faruque’s pen on paper sketch Bonolota Sen boldly depicts female figures and faces intertwined with one another while Pinu’s charcoal on paper drawing unveils a woman in blur.
Woman has also appeared as a subject matter in sculptor Harun Al Rashid’s ivory sculpture titled Feeling of Love. A woman with her hand raised, reaching towards the sky has been moulded by the sculptor in white cement.
An oriental painting of a woman sitting before a water lily has been depicted in Pretty Woman, an acrylic on canvas by Mohammad Safiqul Islam.
A village where nature and human life coexist with each other in harmony has been brilliantly illustrated by Swapan Acharjee in painting Nature-2, which reveals the view of a rural area enriched with paddy fields, huts, ponds and green luscious vegetation.
A river calmly flowing between its two banks at the foot of green hills and resembling a giant blue snake in Shankha Nodi will surely grip one’s attention. The painting is an acrylic on canvas by Md. Jalal Uddin.
Inaugurated on June 23, the exhibition will remain open for everybody from 12:00 to 8:00pm till July 03.
