Brazilian striker Everton fails beep test
Bangladesh League club Brothers Union, who earlier refused to send their players for beep test, at last participated in the trial at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday after a lot of fuss.
Beep test is a fitness test, which is mandatory for all the overseas players in order to appear in the Bangladesh league. Brothers Union denied to send their five registered foreign players in the three previous trials arguing that it was not the BFF’s concern whether we field a fit player or not.
However, the club on Saturday wrote a letter
to the Bangladesh Football Federation requesting
it to organise another beep test, informed BFF general secretary Al Musabbir Sadi.
‘We have organised the test on Sunday in response to Brothers Union’s letter we received last night (Saturday night),’ said the general secretary.
All the five Brothers Union players took the test but astonishingly their Brazilian striker Everton Souza Santos failed to confirm his participation in the league. His successful colleagues are Bitcha Richard (Cameroon), Danilo Rafael Dos Santos Vi Valdo (Brazil), Enock Bentil (Ghana) and Azubugwu Chimezie Mike (Nigeria).
Some other foreign footballers, who were unsuccessful on the previous occasions, tested their luck utilising the chance. They are Guinean Mostafa Kaba (Arambagh KS), Nigerian Nkwocha Kingsley (Farashganj SC), Nigerian Paul Mcjames Nwuachuku (Rahmatganj MFS) and Emeka Lucky Uti (Dhaka Mohammedan). Emeka and Kingsley were able to pass the test this time.
