A four-storey under-construction building collapsed on Roghu Das Lane in the Old Town of Dhaka Friday morning. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
The building collapsed around 7:00am, said police.
It had no approval from Rajuk, said Sutrapur police officer-in-charge Khalilur Rahman.
‘In the morning, I was washing my hands in the balcony. Suddenly I saw the building collapsed with a loud noise. The whole area was covered with dust, said Mohammad Suman, who lives in an adjacent building.
The building had only one room on each floor but they were yet to be walled.
Fortunately, it fell down in an open place in the west.
There are two buildings on the eastern side with a little gap with the collapsed building.
The building owner, Towhid Uddin, neither had Rajuk approval nor had any design.
A case was filed against him.
‘We are looking for him,’ the OC.
