The young and emerging director Murad Parvez has a lot on his plate now-a-days with working on a drama serial and a number of
productions for the upcoming Eid.
Parvez has achieved a good reputation for directing teleplays. Beginning with Dour (Run), he has been consistent in making quality productions for his audience. His repertory has acclaimed productions like Manobjomin, based on Shirshendu Mukhopadhay’s novel and Pidim, a telefilm featuring a story of the downtrodden.
One of his drama serials titled Restaurant 21 is currently being aired on Desh TV on every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 pm. The drama serial is about a man named Momen Mia who lost everything in a landslide and has come to the city in search of livelihood. The man’s predicament, harassment and hardships are portrayed in the drama serial.
Parvez will also set to make a number of productions for the upcoming Eid. He will make a one episode teleplay, Morning Walk, for the private television channel Maasranga and a telefilm Ghun Pokar Mrityu O Bhalobasa for ATN Bangla. He is also working on a new drama serial titled Ondho Teerondaz.
Besides directing drama serials and teleplays, Parvez has also directed a film. It has been long five years since director Murad Parvez won the National Film Awards in eight categories for his debut film Chandrogrohon in 2008.
Parvez won a government grant in 2010 for making another film. But as he was busy with making teleplays and other small screen productions, he could not begin working on the film, shared the director.
Parvez, however, is now set to make the grant film. Titled Brihonnola, the script, dialogues and screenplay for the film have already been completed by the director, informed Parvez.
‘For the time being, I can say that the film will feature an attractive story of transformation of truth into falsity, nothing into everything, insignificance into significance’, Parvez told New Age. ‘I am going to start shooting for the film within this week. The location has been selected at a Rajbari (Palace) in Faridpur’, Parvez informed New Age.
The film cast includes Ferdous, Sohana Saba, Jhuna Chowdhury, KS Firoz, Azad Abul Kalam, Manosh Bandopadhay, Intekhab Dinar and many others. The director wishes to get the film ready for release within December.
