A case was filed against 45 Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activists in Rajshahi on the charge of carrying explosives substances and barring public works on Wednesday.
The Motihar police subinspector, Momin Sarker, filed the case.
The arrestees were granted one-day remand in this connection.The accused were identified as Matiur Rahman, masters student of language department, Mahfuzur Rahman, third year student of geography, of Rajshahi University, local Chhatra Dal activists Masud Rana, Tareq Islam and Shahinur Rahman and other unnamed people.
Sharmeen Akhtar, a judge of chief metropolitan magistrate court in Rajshahi, granted one-day remand for the arrestees after the police applied remand for a week, confirmed officer-in-charge Ashit Kumar Ghosh.
Earlier on Tuesday, about thirty men of the organisation entered the university campus riding motorbike, violating the university’s injunction on political activities.
Law enforcers tried to stop the procession at the university’s Kazla entrance at around 11:30am.
At one point, police charged baton and fired rubber bullets to disperse the intruders, leaving ten injured.
