A Bangladeshi student Sumaiya Mamun has won the third prize at the Churchill Photography Competition 2013 at the University of Cambridge in UK. Sumaiya’s another photograph was selected as one of the top 20 photographs in the competition. The annual photography competition allows the university members to participate in the competition

Bangla Academy celebrated its 58th founding anniversary on Tuesday through a discussion and cultural programme at the Kabi Shamsur Rahman Seminar Hall of the academy. Professor Sirajul Islam, a member of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, presented the keynote paper at the discussion session and two singers rendered songs at the celebrations programme.
