Adulteration in food rampant in Rajshahi

The sale of unhealthy and date-expired foods in fast food shops, confectionaries and hotels in Rajshahi has become rampant amid lax drive against food adulteration. Availing lack of monitoring by the Directorate of National Consumer Right Protection, the unscrupulous traders are selling date expired and spurious commodities.

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested three members of a carjacking gang and seized at least nine different types of private cars from different places in separate raids in the city. Rights activists on Friday demanded establishment of a full-fledged burn institute with all modern facilities to ensure service for patients with burn injuries. They also demanded that the government should set up a burn unit in all government medical college hospitals to treat the patients at the divisional level.

Woman commits suicide in Ctg
