Mamun’s condition not improved
Film director Catherine Masud and artist Dilara Zaman Jolly, two injured survivors of the Saturday’s road crash in Manikganj, were discharged from the city’s Square Hospital yesterday morning.
However, the condition of another injured, painter Dhali Al Mamun, has not improved, said Prof Sanwar Hossain, medical director of the hospital yesterday. “He [Mamun] will undergo a surgery in his jaw tonight [Sunday night].”
Sanwar, however, said the condition of film production staff Saidul Islam, who was kept at the Intensive Care Unit, has improved and he has been shifted to a cabin.
About Catherine, Sanwar said she had received minor injuries to her skull and as she recovered, she got release from the hospital around 10:30am.
“But she was traumatised.”
Meanwhile, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain visited the injured at the hospital. During the visit, he said the government will bear the treatment expenses of the four injured.
“If doctors recommend sending them abroad for better treatment, the government will take necessary steps,” said Abul.
Earlier, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan also visited the injured at the hospital.
