The Chittagong City Corporation on Thursday filed a general diary with the Khulshi police station in connection with Wednesday’s attack on its mobile court team at the
city’s GEC crossing, police and corporation officials said.
Police said the CCC inspector, Abul Monsur, filed the GD accusing 50 to 60 unknown people for obstructing the eviction drive against unauthorised billboards by the mobile court team, led by a magistrate.
When contacted, CCC magistrate Najia Sharmin said, ‘Initially we filed a GD and did not make any decision yet to file a case against the troublemakers who obstructed our eviction drive and vandalised three vehicles.’
Activists of ruling party-backed Bangladesh Chatra League on Wednesday attacked a mobile court team, led by Chittagong City Corporation at the city’s GEC crossing and vandalised three vehicles of the corporation, police and witnesses said.
