Walton Central Zone were all out for 179 in their first innings against Islami Bank East Zone in the second match of Bangladesh Cricket League in Chittagong on Thursday. Asked to bat first, the Walton outfit found themselves in a precarious position of 4-23 and lost another wicket at 57 to stare at a two-digit score. However, Mehrab Hossain Jr and Mosharraf Hossain added 73 for sixth wicket partnership to give their innings some respectability.
Mehrab made 43 while Mosharraf added 45 after rain brought a brief respite for the game to halt the play for more than one-and-a-half hour between lunch and tea session.
Fast bowler Kamrul Hassan Rabbi broke the sixth wicket partnership and picked up two early wickets to end up with 3-43 while Abu Jayed and Nabil Samad picked up two wickets each.
