Beautiful lyrics blended with charming composition of evergreen Tagore song Parbi na ki jog dite ai chhondey rey rendered in chorus not only pleased the ears but also the eyes of the spectators as a synchronized, vibrant group dance was presented at a programme on Thursday evening.
This was the introductory recital Chhayanaut’s two-day festival celebrating the great poet Rabindranath Tagore’s 152nd birth anniversary.
Held at the auditorium of the organisation, the first day of the festival also included solo rendition of Tagore songs by leading and aspiring artistes as well as a discussion session.
Buk bedhe tui daara dekhi and Cholo jai cholo jai cholo in chorus also received loud applauses from the audience who came to listen to Tagore songs that evening.
Noted Tagore artiste Mita Haq created a joyous atmosphere in the hall with her solo rendition of Shubho kormo pothe koro nirbhoi gaan. Mohua Manjuri Sunanda, in her melodious voice, rendered Aay re pagol. Laisa Ahmed Lisa also received audience acclaims when she presented Tor apon joney.
One of the most popular songs of the poet Jodi tor daak shuney kew na ashe presented by Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman was also highly appreciated by the listeners. Evergreen songs Amay bolona gahitey, Ei molin bostro chharitey hobey and Prochondo gorjoney ashilo were performed spontaneously by Lili Islam, Bikram Das and Mostafizur Rahman Turjo respectively on the same evening.
Earlier, President of Chhayanaut Sanjida Khatun and general secretary of the organisation Khairul Anam Shakil delivered speech at the programme.
