Children of the city enjoyed programmes on Christmas organised by different city hotels on Thursday, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ amid festivity.
They came with their families and passed a joyful day with Santa Claus and with his friends –Angry Birds, Micky Mouse and Mini Mouse.
Samantha, Zaira, Mahin and many other kids of 3- 15 years old were seen dancing, riding on different rides, watching bioscope and magic show, playing in ball houses and singing at the pool side area of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
Maria, a five year old was seen riding a train which was set up at Pool Side area of the hotel.
Parents were also busy taking pictures of their children with different cartoon characters.
On the eve of the day, relatively elder people of the community attired in the outfit of Santa Claus distribute gifts among children as part of a universal Christian practice.
Different high-end hotels in the city organised a number of events, such as Christmas parties, magic shows, kid parties and live concerts on Christmas Day.
The hotels decorated its premises with Christmas trees, goodies and fairy lights in the lobby.
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Dhaka organised day long programmes to celebrate the Christmas including fun game rides, magic and puppet shows, DJ Party and many more amusements at the Hotel’s pool side.
There was Raffle Draw for those who came to the Kid’s Party. Different variety of Christmas cakes, cookies of different taste and shape were available at the Hotel lobby.
Sandra, a school student told New Age that every year they come to this hotel with their parents to celebrate the day.
She said they offered special prayers in the morning and decorated Christmas trees at homes.
