China wants Bangladesh to find out a peaceful solution to the political stalemate on forthcoming general election. A five-member Chinese delegation, led by Director General of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Luo Zhaohui, made this comment after a call-on the opposition leader, Khaleda Zia, at latter’s Gulshan residence on Wednesday night. The meeting that began at around 8 pm lasted about one hour.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jun and BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were, among others, present on the occasion.
Sources said Bangladesh’s current political situation, the next national election and relations between the two countries came up for discussion during the meeting.
