Mirpur Commerce College defeated Dr Shahidullah College 7-3 in the opening match of the Diamond Melamine College Rugby Championship at the Notre Dame College ground on Thursday. In the day’s another match, hosts Notre Dame College thumped St Joseph’s Secondary School and College 12-5 at the same venue. Earlier, Bangladesh Rugby Association president Mohammed Shah Alam inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest where the principal of Notre Dame College, Benjamin De Costa, was also present.
