Hasina asks Khaleda
Taking a dig at Khaleda Zia for staying in the house after announcing agitation pogramme, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday asked the Opposition Leader to take the field if she really wanted to go for any movement. “If you want to wage any movement, come to the field,” she said, indicating Khaleda Zia, in her introductory speech at the adjourned meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Board (ALPB). Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held at her Dhanmondi office.
Indicating a section of people who are spreading various kinds of rumors about the upcoming election, Hasina said the election would be held at the right time.
Accusing the BNP-Jamaat for using children in destructive activities, she referred to a media report and said that the BNP-Jamaat alliance were now using children for exploding bombs in exchange of just Tk 200.
The Prime Minister said: “They (BNP-Jamaat) are grooming children as terrorists. What will be the future of a child who will learn how to blast bombs? Obviously, that child will turn out to be a terrorist.”
She alleged that the BNP-Jamaat nexus was trying to destroy the future of the nation. Hasina requested the opposition leader to stop such kind of subversive activities against the nation.
In this regard, she questioned the claim of the BNP-Jamaat that they have thousand and millions of activists, saying: “Where are they now?”
Referring to the recent move by some ‘eminent personalities’, the Prime Minister said one of them is the president of a political party. “If a president of a political party is eminent, what are we?
Are we the rest?” Without mentioning any name, she said that sometime this political personality becomes ‘civil society member’ and sometime ‘eminent personality’. “A political personality will always talk like a politician.”
