A 10-day film festival featuring the world’s most renowned comedy films began at the International Digital and Cultural Archive of the Bangladesh Shilapkala Academy on Sunday evening.
The festival titled World Best Comedy Film Show has been organsied by the academy to boost the activities of the International Digital and Cultural Archive.10 world famous comedy films will be screened at 7.30pm on each festival day.
The festival began with screening of Dumb and Dumber. Written and directed by the Farrelly brothers, the film follows the cross-country trek of two good-natured but incredibly moronic friends who try to return a briefcase full of money to its owner. Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels and Lauren Holly are the main actors of the film.
Today Robert Simonds’s Pink Panther 2, a film about an unintelligent inspector named Clouseau, who must team up with detectives from other countries to rout a daring burglar, The Tornado, who has returned after a decade of inactivity, will be screened.
The film stars Steve Martin, Jean Reno, Alfred Molina, Emily Mortimer,
Andy García and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Over the next few days, the festival will also feature King of Comedy, The Apartment, The Hangover Part 3, Hot Fuzz, Wild Hogs, Little Miss Sunshine, Dr. Strangelove. The festival will with screening of Airplane on July 31.
