Maharaj Krishan Kaushik, former coach of the Indian national women’s hockey team who was once accused of sexual harassment by one of his charges,
is set to be named the new national coach of Bangladesh.
General secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, Khawaja Rahamatullah was eyeing the appointment after first choice AK Bansal was forbidden from taking up the job by the Indian sports minister.
New candidate Kaushik was alleged to be involved in a sexual harassment incident claimed by a national woman player, Ranjitha in 2010 and lost his job after he was found guilty subsequently.
‘We will talk with the Indian Hockey Federation about Kaushik’s current status then we will decide about his recruitment,’ said Rahamatullah.
It was being rumoured that Kaushik might bring along an assistant coach with him who is thought to be Rajesh Chauhan.
