The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association secretary general, Kamalesh Sharma, Tuesday called on the speaker of the parliament, Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, at a city hotel.
The CPA secretary general said Bangladesh had achieved remarkable progress in reducing children and mother mortality rate, achieving self-sufficiency in food, women empowerment and general equalisation.
Kamalesh praised the women’s contribution in politics, social and government and non-government organisations in Bangladesh.
