The admission tests of Chittagong University (CU) started on Saturday amid worry about their timely completion for the ongoing political turmoil. Though the Chittagong city unit BNP withdrew their hartal for Sunday, there was made no change in the fresh schedule of the admission tests. The 10-day admission battle in the university began with holding of the ‘D’ unit (Faculty of Social Science) test on the first day.The test started at 10:30 am with 26,266 admission seekers vying for 888 seats.Of the total seats, 748 are general while 140 are reserved for different quotas. A total of 26,266 students applied for the above-mentioned seats while 32 candidates fought for each seat. CU Vice-chancellor Prof Anwarul Azim Arif while visiting the examination centers expressed his satisfaction over turnout of the admission seekers.
