The 156th ‘Historic Santal Revolutionary Day’ was celebrated here in Dinajpur and its 13 upazilas with cultural programmes performed by the artistes of the community.
Discussions were also organised highlighting the significance of this day. Colourful festival processions were brought out in various areas of Dinajpur.
In Phulbari, a programme was organised at Betdighi Purba Chawakmathura Adivasi Community Centre of the upazila on Thursday. Palli Sri a local non government organisation of the district assisted the programme.
A celebration procession paraded different areas. An archery competition was also organised with 30 competitors from the indigenous community of the upazila.
On the heels of a short discussion, a cultural programme was held.
The programme was organised in Birganj upazila of the district.
