The secretary general of the Commonwealth, Kamalesh Sharma, called on the foreign minister, Dipu Moni, at her parliament office on Sunday .
The commonwealth secretary general is now on a four-day official visit to Bangladesh to attend the 10th Commonwealth women affairs minister meeting to be held from June 17-19.
He thanked the foreign minister for her utmost effort to facilitate and hosting the ministerial meeting in Dhaka.
Dipu Moni said that Bangladesh was happy to host this meeting as Bangladesh is regarded as a champion of women’s empowerment in the developing world.
She remarked that the outcome of this meeting will be an important element in the agenda of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November this year.
