Special TV play “Daalia” will treat the viewers to an hour of historic intrigue and non-stop suspense on the fourth day of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr at 8:15pm on ntv. With screenplay and direction by Nurul Alam Atik, the play is an adaptation of a short story by Rabindranath Tagore.
The plot: Shah Shuja is the defeated Subahdar of Bengal and Mughal emperor Shah Jahan’s son. His unfortunate daughter Amina grows up in the poverty-stricken household of a fisherman. The old fisherman calls her Tinni. Tinni grows fond of a youth of the village — Daalia. The plot gets a twist when her elder sister Zulekha discovers Tinni in the village. Tinni learns her real name and about her true identity from Zulekha. The sisters agree that they have to avenge their father. The plot thickens as Amina/Tinni receives a marriage proposal from their enemies.
The cast of the play includes Joya Ahsan, Swagota, Ashok Bepari and others.
