Ayesha Tawhida Luna, a defeated independent general councilor candidate of ward 11 under Barisal City Corporation, on Tuesday demanded recounting of
votes in all of the four centers and rejected the results.
At a press conference at her house, Luna alleged irregularities of the Election Commission and violation of election conduct by her the nearest rival Awami League-backed winner councilor candidate Mojibor Rahman.
Reading out a written statement and answering questions of the journalists, she alleged that EC and police officials of the center allowed Mojibor Rahman and his brothers to roam and campaign in the center.
The EC officials used polling agents of Mojibor in vote counting violating election conduct, Luna alleged.
