Demonstration demands killers’ arrest
Students and local people held demonstrations in Barisal city Wednesday morning, demanding immediate arrest of the killers of schoolboy Inan.
They also criticised the police for failing to making any headway in the probe of the killing that took place three months ago.They took part in a procession that started at Barisal Zilla School point and after parading different city roads ended at the school.
Samir Rafi Inan, 16, Class X student of Barisal Government Zilla School and only son of Zahangir Hossain Tanu, a contractor of Baro Bari Lane in Banglabazaar of the city, was beaten to death by some youths of the area on April 6 following altercations over playing cricket.
Father of the victim lodged a murder case on April 8 with Barisal Kotwali police station, accusing Rifat and Rishad, sons of Rafikul Islam Gafur, vice-president city Jatiya Party, Shimon, Hasan, Rana, Jumman and Sourav.
Shakhwat Hossain, Kotwali police station in-charge, said investigation was going on.
