Bus trips from Gabtali terminal to and from Barisal have remained suspended since Thursday night after a bus was vandalised by local people at the terminal in Dhaka.
The Barisal Bus Owners’ Association vice-president, Dipak Chandra Das, said the bus owners cancelled the trips from and to the Gabtali terminal because a bus of Eagle Paribahan was damaged after death of a motorcyclist in an accident at Gabtali on Thursday.
The association president, Aftab Hossain, said after the incident the association leaders decided to suspend trips from Gabtali terminal on Dhaka-Barisal-Dhaka route until further notice.
Canceling trips without any previous notice caused sufferings to the passengers and increased crowds at the Sayedabad bus terminal as well as on the water vehicles.
