Dhaka and Seoul have agreed to identify possible areas to work together for development of the two-way tourism and hospitality industries.
In doing so, a memorandum of understanding would be signed soon, said a message received in Dhaka.
The decision came when civil aviation and tourism minister of
Bangladesh Faruk Khan met South Korean culture, sports and tourism minister Yoo Jin Young at the latter’s office in South Korean capital of Seoul.
Meanwhile, Faruk Khan held a meeting with chief executive
officer of Youngone Corporation Kihak Sung, the world’s second largest readymade garment maker.
During the meeting, the minister said Bangladesh and South Korea have long been maintaining good bilateral trade relations and many South Korean business units like Youngone are in operation in Bangladesh and they are contributing to Bangladesh economy.
Bangladesh government has declared various incentives and lucrative packages to foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh, he informed.
The minister also invited South Korean investors to invest in Bangladesh enjoying these facilities.
On July 24, Faruk Khan left here for Seoul on an invitation of Korean government and will return home today.
