Film lovers watched technological development of cinema as depicted in Side by Side directed by American maker Christopher Kenneally.
A good number of students, most whom are film society movement activists, watched the film at a special screening session organised by Bangladesh Documentary Council at the Dhaka Art Centre on Friday evening.
The film also depicts interviews with directors, cinematographers, colorists, scientists, engineers and artists, who share their experiences of the introducing new technologies and their impacts.
The Dhaka audience was thrilled watching the making process of the latest version of 3D films.
The viewers also enjoyed the experiences of working with the latest technologies of their favourite Holloywood actors and directors like Keanu Reeves, John Malkovich, Greta Gerwig, George Lucas, James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez, Christopher Nolan, Joel Schumacher and others.
‘We screen quality documentaries every month to introduce these films to the local viewers,’ Mridul Mamum, general secretary of Bangladesh Documentary Council, told New Age.
‘Documentaries offer in-depth knowledge of a subject and I love to watch those,’ Shamima Ahsan Jui, a private university student, said.
Her friend Nasif Ahmed said that local film festivals should include more documentary films.
