A thirty-episode drama serial featuring the stories of the hot-blooded days of the war of independence in 1971 will be aired two days a week on Channel-i.
The serial titled 1971 Seisob Dingulo, scripted and directed by Hridi Huq, from her father, the Ekushey Padak winning thespian Dr Enamul Huq’s novel Seisob Dingulo, will be aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays of the week at 7.50pm, said the organisers at a press conference held on Sunday at the TV channel’s office at Tejgaon.
A selected part of the serial as collage was projected at the programme, which was attended by the information minister Hasanul Haque Inu as the chief guest.
Eminent personalities like Haider Akbar Khan Rono, Ataur Rahman, Dr Enamul Huq, Lucky Enam, Maj (rtd) Quamrul Islam Bhuyan, Quayes Chowdhury, among others were present at the programme as special guests.
‘As mischievous attempts had been taken to distort the history, it is our duty to uphold the spirit of the war of independence through different artistic expressions’, the information minister said.
Praising the young generation’s passion for the war of 1971 Faridur Reza Sagor, managing director of Impress Telefilm, said, ‘It is a matter of pride for us that Hridi, who did not see those days, have made such a serial’.
‘It’s true that I did not see the volatile days of 1971 but I can imagine those. I’ve expressed my imagination in this serial,’ Hridi Huq said.
