Prangonemor Theatre Fest
Droho Prem Nari staged on fifth day
Prangonemor staged Droho Prem Nari on the fifth day of the ongoing theatre festival at the Music and Dance Centre Hall of
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday.
Prangonemor is celebrating its 10th founding anniversary organising an eight-day festival featuring all the eight productions of the troupe.
Directed by Ramij Razu, Droho Prem Nari is an adaptation of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s lyrical play Aleya, which reveals the fact that it is love but not war that wins in the long run through an affair between King Minketu and the queen of the neighbouring state.
Ananta Hira enacted the role of the king, while Nuna Afroz enacted the character of the queen.
‘The play attracted me for its message that though human minds are like labyrinths but love is the dominant passion,’ said the director of the production.
A houseful audience enjoyed the play.
‘It was a wonderful play. The performance was praiseworthy,’ said Farzana Hasin, an audience who came to watch the play with friends.
‘The story is very catchy. Nazrul knew the wanderings of human hearts. The actors were very skilled in portraying the message ,’ said another audience Mahin Ahmed.
