Share trading of Pharma Aids resume at the Dhaka Stock Exchange tomorrow after three months of suspension. The bourse on February 5 suspended Pharma Airs’ share trading at the bourse. The DSE board on Thursday decided to scrap Pharma Aids trade suspension in a bid to reduce investors’ sufferings and allowing them to trade shares. The DSE bourse also decided to continue its procedure to take necessary action against the company for obstructing DSE officials to conduct a visit to its (company) premises in February, a DSE director told New Age on Friday.
He also said that the bourse’s procedure against the company would continue as it (the company) did not apologise for its behaviour with the DSE officials.
Most importantly, the company denied the DSE’s right to visit a company,
which is a serious violation of listing regulations, he said.
‘We will take next step against the company with Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s consultation,’ he said.
Pharma Aids, which was listed with the DSE in1987, in its half-yearly report published on January 30 showed net profit of Tk 0.66 crore with earning per share at Tk 2.13 as against Tk 0.49 crore and Tk 1.60 respectively in the same period of the previous year.
The share price of the company increased by Tk 23.50 to Tk 184.30 on February 6 from Tk 160.80 on January 6.
