The Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday suspended trading of Imam Button and Meghna Pet Industries for unusual price hike of their shares.
The price of Imam Button’s shares rose to Tk 13.4 on Wednesday, whereas it was Tk 7.2 on September 23. On the other hand, the price of Meghna Pet’s shares rose to Tk 10.3 on Wednesday, whereas it was Tk 6 on September 23.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and the DSE in the last one month had suspended trading of several companies for unusual price hike and formed probe committees to look into the matter.
The BSEC and the DSE have recently installed the latest surveillance software, but it is yet to figure out any market misdeeds or identify any cartel involved with share price manipulation.
