The Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday signed an agreement with the NASDAQ under which the US stock exchange will study the technical requirement of the DSE for the next 10 years.
The DSE chief executive officer Swapan Kumar Bala and NASDAQ OMX South-East Asia and Pacific region managing director Robert Frojd signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organisations. DSE president Ahasanul Islam presided over the signing ceremony in Dhaka.
The design study will cost $1.80 lakh excluding travel allowance of the study team, a DSE senior official said.
The design study will cover technical requirement and human resource requirement of the bourse for the next ten years, he said.
The DSE made the move after the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission asked the bourse to scrap its online based faulty trading software MSA Plus.
NASDAQ will submit the study report within the next six to eight weeks, they said.
