Deutsche Welle has produced a television series on science and technology in Bangla catering to the needs of target audience.
The TV series named ‘Anweshan’ will be premiered on Ekushey Television on April 13, chairman and CEO of Ekushey TV (ETV)Abdus Salam told a press conference at a local hotel on Wednesday.
The Ekushey TV will telecast the show hosted by DW’s Debarati Guha every Saturday at 6:30pm as well as Sunday at 1:30am and 3:30pm respectively.
Anweshan is being produced by DW’s Bengali team in Bonn and will cover all aspects of science and technology, with a special focus on the latest developments in Germany and Europe.
‘It’s a milestone for broadcasting Deutsche Welle’s programme in Bangladesh,’ said Tobias Grote- Beverborg, DW’s distribution executive for South Asia at the press conference.
‘We have been broadcasting to Bangladesh for more than 40 years and by producing a new television programme in Bangla, we hope to be able to win over even more fans,’ he added.
German ambassador in Dhaka Albrecht Conze, producer of the show Sanjiv Burman and host of the show Debarati Guha, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Giving details about the show, Debarati Guha told journalists that the 22-minute TV production was tailored and produced specially to cater to the needs of target audience.
