The Dhaka Water and Sewage Authority has introduced a link number ‘16162’ to take the city dwellers’ compliant on water and sewerage services, a DWASA official said on Tuesday.
‘From now on city dwellers would not have to go for section to section to lodge compliant. Anyone can now post compliant about service delivery by dialing 16162,’ MA Maleque, project manager of Programme for Performance Improvement Revenue Zone-6, told the news agency on Tuesday.
Maleque said the main objective of the initiative was to provide the city dwellers with hassle-free and prompt service.
Detailing, he said once a client’s complaint is lodged with DWASA, which would reach up to the managing director.
There will be a number of call centres in DSAWA to receive clients’ complaints and their problems would be solved as quickly as possible, he added.
About the services of the authority, the WASA official said DWASA has gone on online and
so, anyone would be able to know his or her billing status staying home by logging in DWASA website using respective code number.
Referring to DWASA steps to increase revenue, he said issuing no-claim certificate, preparation of bills each month as per proper meter reading are among the salient features of the efforts to boost revenue earning.
DWASA has collected Tk 115 crore as revenue in the last financial year (2012-13), up from Tk 77 crore collected in the previous year, he said attributing the credit of revenue earning to the dynamism in service delivery.
