Eastern Bank Limited has launched a new product for non-resident Bangladeshis which will enable them to invest in the capital market of Bangladesh through a beneficiary owner’s account which will be funded by non-resident investors taka account.
Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, launched the new product at a press conference on Sunday) at Sonargaon Hotel in the city, said a news release.
EBL deputy managing director Md Muklesur Rahman, head of marketing and brands Ziaul Karim, head of NRB business Md Towfiqul A Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.
The product ‘Shawdesh Biniyog’ will provide NRB’s the option to subscribe for initial public offering from any part of the world. NRBs will be able to sell the shares acquired through IPOs, in the secondary market through EBL at their discretion. EBL will also facilitate the Bangladeshi people living across the world to buy and sell shares in the secondary market.
