CU closed till August 10

Authorities of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday announced that all educational institutions in Chattogram city would remain closed on Tuesday due to waterlogging in the city for four consecutive days.
As most of the educational institutions went under water in the low-lying areas in Chattogram city, the DSHE authorities took the decision, said Chattogram district education officer Uttam Khisha.
Low-lying areas in Chattogram city remained under water for four days due to heavy rain and tidal surge.
‘We directed the upazila education officers to make a decision after consulting with the local administration regarding the educational institutions as some upazilas were also flooded with rain water,’ Uttam Khisha said.
Chittagong University authorities, however, announced that the varsity would remain closed from August 8 to August 10 due to natural disaster, according to the university’s acting registrar KM Nur Ahmed.
