A 12-day book fair titled ‘Eid Book Festival’ was launched on Wednesday at Aziz Super Market of Shahbagh in the capital. Boi Prokashona O Bipanan Samabay Samity organised the fair on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr offering the customers 40 per cent discount for 400 specific titles.
A number of 20 publishing houses would participate in the book fair to continue till August 21 between 11:00am and 9:00pm every day in room 33 on the ground floor, the organisers said.
The publishing houses include Oitijjhya, Sandesh, Suchipatra, Jagrti, Ramon, Sharaban, Magnum
Opas, Utsya, Bhashachitra, Barshadupur, Sanghati, Janantik, Muktadesh, Sangbed, Parijat and Adarsha.
Daily Samakal managing editor Abu Sayed Khan inaugurated the fair through a programme chaired by the association’s convener, Rabin Ahsan.
Some publishers also attended the inaugurating ceremony.
