Eid once more. Time to be a couch potato without undue guilt. There’s plenty to keep you glued to the small screen, ranging from special TV plays, telefilms, musical shows to magazine programmes. Whatever your taste, Eid special programmes have something for everyone. Here’s what you can look forward to:
ATN Bangla
“Ganit Manab”
Single-episode play “Ganit Manab” will be aired on Eid day at 7:45 pm. Written by Amio Sadnam, the play has been directed by Animesh Aich.
The story of the play focuses on a math genius Zahirul Haque who has won numerous awards. But his world crumbles when one day he is challenged by a stranger. Haque fails to solve a simple puzzle presented by the stranger.
Veteran actors Aly Zaker and Asaduzzaman Noor have played the lead roles.
“Tune Café”
Musical programme “Tune Café” will be aired on the second day at 6:10 pm. Hosted by popular singer-composer Bappa Majumder, the programme will see another noted singer Kumar Bishwajit as the guest.
The singer duo will share their experiences related to music and will recount many untold stories. In between conversations, they will also sing their chart-topping numbers.
Rumana Afroz has directed the programme.
“Galpo Gaaney Sabina Yasmin”
Featuring renowned singer Sabina Yasmin, a solo musical programme titled “Galpo Gaaney Sabina Yasmin” will be aired on the third day at 10:40 pm. Directed by Arif Khan, the entire programme has been shot in Singapore.
The programme will feature eight songs by Yasmin. In between songs, the diva shares her experiences and stories with the audience.

“Mira’r Din-Ratri”
Humayun Ahmed’s single-episode TV play “Mira’r Din-Ratri” will be aired on Eid day at 7:50pm. Meher Afroz Shaon plays the protagonist. The cast also includes Gazi Rakayet and Shahed Khan.
Mira is always expected to do the unexpected. She has not changed much since her marriage. Her husband, irritated by her bizarre behaviour, decides to teach her a lesson. Meanwhile, Mira is on the verge of realising a dream but her husband’s decision has become a barrier.
“New York”
Written and directed by Wahid Anam, tele-film “New York” will be aired on the second day at 3:05pm. The cast include Nowshin, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Nahian.
“Krishok-er Eid Ananda”
Shykh Siraj’s game show for farmers, “Krishok-er Eid Ananda” will be aired on the third day of Eid at 4:30pm. This time, the programme has been set and filmed on the banks of Meghna in Chandpur.
The programme highlights farmers who live on the edge of financial solvency. Nonetheless, farmers spend their Eid in a festive mood. Games like pillow-fight, climbing banana trees and running backwards have been included in the programme. Attractive prizes will be distributed among the contestants.

“Insomnia”
Tele-film “Insomnia” will be aired on the second day of Eid at 2:30 pm. Written by Pantho Shahriar and directed by Animesh Aich, the cast includes Bipasha Hayat, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Tarin and Abul Hayat.
Naila Rahman is a young woman in jail. Dipti, a lawyer, meets her in prison to go over the facts. Naila’s confession of killing her spouse gives cruel insights into the male dominated society where women routinely encounter oppression and abuse.
“Bhalobashi Tomakei”
Single-episode play “Bhalobashi Tomakei” will be aired on the second day of Eid at 8:15 pm. Written by Quamrul Hasan and directed by Chayanika Chowdhury, the cast includes Mahfuz Ahmed, Tinni, Sharmili Ahmed and Masud Ali Khan.
Realistic by nature, Anindra is a workaholic. Anindra’s wife Ava likes to see herself as Bonolota Sen. Extremely impractical, Ava does not like domestic responsibilities. A frustrated Anindra tries to pull her out of the world of illusions.
“Mon-e Laage Dola”
Special musical programme “Mon-e Laage Dola” will be aired on the second day of Eid at 5:30 pm. Produced by Wahidul Islam Shuvro, the programme will feature Shafin Ahmed, Kaniz Suborna, Hridoy Khan, Nirjhor and Shafiq Tuhin.
Ekushey TV
“Eid Exclusive Moments”
Entertainment show “Eid Exclusive Moments” will be aired on Eid day at 5:25pm. The programme will have artistes Balam, Fahmida Nabi and Shafin Ahmed as guests. Other guests on the show will be journalists Morshed Naser Tito, Bipul Hasan and Saikat Salahuddin.
Produced by Israfil Shahin, the programme will be hosted by Tanvir Tareq.
“Purush Ashram”
Written and directed by Mazhar Khokon and Masudul Hasan Roni respectively, single-episode TV play “Purush Ashram” will be aired on the second day of Eid at 7:030pm.
The comedy shows some husbands, oppressed by their wives, sharing their frustration and forming an organisation called ‘Purush Ashram’. The group’s effort spawns a coaching centre with the same title. The coaching centre offers courses that teach husbands how to survive their stormy conjugal lives. The play reaches its climax when the wives of these men find out what they have actually been up to.
The cast includes Sohana Saba, Nisho and others.
“Popcorn”
Variety show “Popcorn” will be aired on the third day at 4:30 pm. The show will feature expats living in Bangladesh as guests. Among the guests, South Korean Ambassador Taiyoung Cho will talk about the similarities between the languages and cultures of Bangladesh and South Korea.
The programme also includes Bangla songs rendered by foreigners, fashion show, game show and other interesting acts.
Banglavision
“Behala”
Written and directed by Redwan Rony, tele-film “Behala” will be aired on Banglavision on Eid day at 2:40 pm.
The story of the film follows a newly married couple. Nahid, his parents and wife Nupur are seemingly happy. They have been married for three years but have no child. After consulting a doctor, it emerges that the problem lies in Nahid. Nupur realises that she is pregnant while her husband is abroad. Nupur decides to surprise her husband with the news but an accident happens.
Sumaiya Shimu and Mahfuz Ahmed play the lead roles in the tele-film.
“Shonar Dim”
Written and directed by Brindabon Das and Salahuddin Lavlu, TV play “Shonar Dim” will be aired on Banglavision on the second day of Eid at 8:10 pm.
Seasoned artiste Ferdausi Majumdar dons the role of a matriarch who migrated from Noakhali to North Bengal. She has 11 offspring, though only the eldest son lives with her. She has an old chest that she only opens in private and she always keeps an eye on it. A rumour generates that the chest might contain golden eggs.
The cast also includes Chanchal Chowdhury, Shamim Zaman, Shahnaz Khushi and Brindabon Das.
“Guru-ke Salam”
The guru-disciple relationship is very significant in traditional music. On the show “Guru-ke Salam”, six renowned singers — Rezwana Chowdhury Bonna, Syed Abdul Hadi, Abdul Jabbar, Ayub Bachchu, Kumar Bishwajit and Fahmida Nabi — have reminisced on their gurus. The show will be aired on Banglavision on the third day of Eid at 6:05 pm.
The programme has been hosted by Elita. Arif Hossain has produced the show.

“Gariber Bondhu”
Written and directed by Brindaban Das and Salahuddin Lavlu, mini serial “Gariber Bondhu” will be aired on Rtv. Starting from Eid day, the six-episode series will be aired everyday at 7:30 pm.
The story of the serial revolves around an individual who lends money to the poor. Though he publicises himself as a friend of the poor, he takes away their possessions if they cannot pay the instalments on time.
The cast includes Amirul Haque Chowdhury, Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Shahnaz Khushi and Shirin Alam.
“Pherar Poth Nei, Thakey Na Konokaley”
Tele-film “Pherar Poth Nei, Thakey Na Konokaley” will be aired on the second day of Eid on Rtv at 3 pm.
A busy street; another day in the city. A woman with a bag is crossing the street. A sudden explosion changes the whole scene. Shops are closed immediately. The woman with the bag rushes into a shop. What happens next?
The cast includes Joya Ahsan, Animesh Aich and Sheoti.
“Felu Kajol”
Written and directed by Alvi Ahmed, TV play “Felu Kajol” will be aired on the third day of Eid at 9 pm.
After failing the HSC exams six times, Kajol earns the nickname “Felu Kajol”. In the small town, another Kajol moves in. People start calling her “Shundori Kajol”. A conflict between the two Kajols becomes inevitable.
Shajal and Tisha play the lead roles.
Desh TV
“Call-er Gaan”
Desh TV will air four special episodes of its regular musical programme “Call-er Gaan”. The episodes will feature popular singers both from Bangladesh and India.
The bands to be featured on the Eid-special shows are Bangla, Dohar (Kolkata), Chandra Bindu (Kolkata) and Souls. Singers Fahmida Nabi, Samina Chowdhury and Shakila Zafar will also be featured on the show.
The special episodes will go on air starting from Eid day and will continue for six days. The programme will start from 11:45 pm every night. Viewers can request the featured artistes to sing their favourite songs via phone calls.
Alamgir Hossain is the producer of the programme.
“Shob Raat-er Golpo Ek Noy”
TV play “Shob Raat-er Golpo Ek Noy” will be aired on 8:30 pm on the second day of Eid. Written by Abdullah Mohammad Saad and directed by Faisal Rajib, Hamidur Rahman Khan is the producer of the play, which will be telecast under the banner of C-Drive Communication. The cast includes Tauquir Ahmed, Dipa Khondokar, Joyraj, Orsha and Shamsul Alam Bokul.
The story revolves around a physician husband-wife duo and their harrowing experience on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. On the way to their village home at night, they are stopped by strangers, including a drug addict and a police officer. Though the stressed couple is in a hurry, the police officer keeps holding them up.
“Jatra Biroti”
Written by Badrul Anam Soud and directed by Montasir Bipon, this single-episode play will be aired on Eid day at 8:30 pm. The cast includes Subarna Mustafa, Bonna Mirza, Intekhab Dinar and Saju Khadem.
The plot: An old man is in search of a refuge on a rainy day. As the man waits for the rain to stop, a middle-aged woman comes by with a girl. They are also looking for a shelter from the rain. The trio, who strike up a conversation, are pleased to be in each other’s company. A little later, a thief comes by and also attempts to join the group. The story takes an unexpected twist from this point.
Boishakhi TV
“Gendu Chorar Prem Kahini”
Tele-film “Gendu Chorar Prem Kahini” will be aired on Eid day at 3:10 pm. SA Haque Alik has written and directed the film.
The story of this hilarious film zooms in on a petty thief named Gendu. One day Gendu comes to the realisation that he too needs a life partner and the search for a suitable woman begins.
The cast of the film includes Anisur Rahman Milon, Sharika, Azizul Hakim, Srabonti and Al Mansur.
“Shomoy Katuk Gaaney Gaaney”
Musical programme “Shomoy Katuk Gaaney Gaaney” will be aired every night at 12 am, from the eve of Eid till the fifth day. The programme will feature popular singer Naquib Khan as the host.
Noted classical and adhunik singer Ustad Niaz Muhammad Chowdhury will be featured on the third day’s programme.
Islam Shafique is the producer of “Shomoy Katuk Gaaney Gaaney”.
“Purnodoirgho Bangla Natok”
TV play “Purnodoirgho Bangla Natok” will be aired on the third day of Eid at 10:30pm. Written by Rumman Rashid Khan, the play has been directed by Kaushik Sankar Das.
The cast of the play includes Shajal, Tisha and Munmun.
Diganta Television
“Music Caravan”
Musical show “Music Caravan” will be aired on Eid day at 8:55 pm. Young singers including Arfin Rumey, Porshi and Kazi Shuvo will be featured on the show.
Zahid Akbar will host the programme. Lutfar Hasan has planned and produced “Music Caravan”.
“Eid Ananda”
Variety show “Eid Ananda” will be aired on the second day at 11:05 pm. On the programme, celebrities including film actors Razzaque, Omar Sunny and Moushumi; singers James and Nancy and TV actor Azizul Hakim will be present as guests.
Former member of the national cricket team Raqibul Hasan will host the show. Mahbub Mukul is the producer of “Eid Ananda”.
“Gaaney Gaaney Eid Anandey”
Live musical show “Gaaney Gaaney Eid Anandey” will be aired three days in a row, from the third day of Eid. The programme will be aired every day at 11:05 pm. Singer Nancy will be featured on the third day’s programme.
The artiste will sing songs on request from the audience on the show.
