Fellows and students of former Dhaka University vice-chancellor SMA Faiz bade farewell to him on the eve of his retirement from the university after a 40-year teaching career.
The soil, water and environment department of the university organised the farewell programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.The speakers at the programme, presided over by the department chairman Aminur Rahman Majumder, termed Faiz a successful teacher, one fo the best vice-chancellors and a good human being.
‘SMA Faiz is the best vice-chancellor of the university I have ever seen,’ said Dhaka University Teachers Association president Farid Uddin Ahmed.
Syndicate member Tajmeri SA Islam, also chemistry department professor, said, ‘He is not only a successful vice-chancellor but also a successful teacher and a human being.’
Arts faculty dean Sadrul Amin, DU Alumni Association president Rakibuddin Ahmed, Bank Asia director Lokiat Ullah, among other teachers and friends, remembered the contribution of SMA Faiz to the university.
