An unknown miscreant injured the owner of a fast food outlet by firing shots at him in Moghbazar area under Ramna Police Station in the capital on Thursday morning, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Masum Billah Joy, 40, owner of Chitrangan Fast Food in the area. Witnesses said an unidentified miscreant entered Masum’s fast food outlet and shot him in the right chest from a close range around 8:00am and left the scene.
On information, a police team from Ramna Police Station, led by Sub-inspector Shahid, rushed in and took Masum in a seriously injured condition to Dhaka Medical College hospital.
Masum’s family members said some local goons had earlier demanded Tk5 lakh as toll from him a few days back and threatened him with a bad consequence for non-payment of the amount and they might have committed the incident.
