The biennial election board of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry announced May 23 as the election date for 2015-17 tenure.
The chairman of the election board Ali Ashraf on Tuesday announced the schedules of the FBCCI election date for the next two years’ tenure. As per the schedule, the last date for paying the annual subscription is March 24 while the last date for submission of nomination for general members from Chambers and Associations is March 25, according to a statement of the apex trade body.
The election board will publish the primary voter list on March 30 and the final voter list on April 9.
The last date for submission of the nominations for the post of directors is April 19 while the polls will be held on May 23.
Following the election, the elected directors will select the president and two vice-presidents of the trade body on May 25.
The duration of the incumbent board ended in November last year as the last elections were held on November 24, 2012. The commerce ministry extended the time for the incumbent board for six months.
