The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Monday urged the government to extend the deadline for submitting income tax returns by one month to October 31.
The National Board of Revenue has set September 30 as the timeframe to submit income tax returns, but different sections of taxpayer including businessmen will not be able to submit their returns by the deadline due to upcoming Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja festivals, the apex trade body said in a news release.
‘Under the circumstances the FBCCI is requesting to extend the time up to October 31,’ the release said.
The trade body has already sent its suggestions in this regard to the finance ministry and the NBR, the release mentioned.
