The police recovered the body of a female student from the Foislake area of the Chittagong city Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Nihar Nigar Nova, 20, daughter of Jahir Ahmad of the Kutkali area and student of the Chittagong University of Science and Technology and a resident of Green Leaf dormitory. The Khulsi police subinspector, Lokman Hossain, said Nova hanged herself from a ceiling fan in her room at night.
Her roommates informed the police of the incident in the morning as they did not get any response knocking her door repeatedly and the police recovered the body, he added.
The body was sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
